Cody and Sam Engagement Session

"A lasting marriage always begins with an enduring friendship."

To put into words how special this couple is to me would be nearly impossible. Sam and I met this year in our "arranged friendship" as we are both on the Outreach team at GCU and were paired together for discipleship. It's amazing to see how what started as a scheduled time of small talk has turned into a treasured friendship full of laughs, Jesus, and adventures. When I see Cody and Sam together, my heart kind of melts...alot. It's refreshing to see the way they serve together at church, loved each other despite distance, laugh constantly, and invest in kids whether it's in the classroom or on Saturday mornings with Canyon Kids.

Hopefully these pictures give just a small glimpse into what God has in store for them, because let me tell you... after only a year of knowing them-- I see how God works and moves through them. They're the real deal, and they are kingdom shakers who just happen to be in love. :)

"Marra, it's a good thing we both know you, or else this would be extremely awkward." -Cody.

One of these is not like the other. . .

I told them to do something crazy, and without missing a beat Cody immediately spun Sam around and dipped her, leaving her with this priceless smile.

Downtown Glendale was a ghost town as the clouds rolled in, we took advantage of this beautiful setting and envisioned a "high school sweetheart" vibe, I'd say they nailed it.

Of course, we must save my favorite for last. :)

Next time these two grace my blog with their cuteness, she'll be wearing white and he won't be able to wipe the smile off his face.
